Basically, when the fight against obesity begins early, far long-standing results can be obtained. Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated in order to determine if you are obese or not. The Body Mass Index is defined as the body mass divided by the square of the body height. BMI over 30 is defined as obese, and BMI over 35 is defined as morbid obesity.

How To Have Obesity SurgeryAt Medistate Hospital?
Verify Your Eligibility
Although we receive many requests for Obesity Surgeries like Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass, unfortunately not everyone is suitable for the operation. We ask you to send information about your height and weight and provide answers for some questions. This enables our doctors to get a closer look at your case, count your BMI and confirm your suitability for surgery. You can submit your request via online chat, email or whatsapp.
Decide On A Date
Once you have received the report and are satisfied with its contents, you will be able to choose a suitable date for treatment. Please be aware that our doctors are usually fully booked for 3-4 weeks ahead. We therefore advise our patients to make an appointment in advance, especially if they can only come on certain days due to work or personal commitments.
Fly To Istanbul
You should arrive in Istanbul the day before the operation. Our driver will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. The next day you will arrive at the hospital. You will have a check-up and consultation with 5 doctors, blood tests, lung X-ray, ECG and abdominal ultrasound if necessary. After all the necessary checks and consultations with your doctor, you will have the operation. After the operation you will stay in hospital for 3 or 4 days under the supervision of a doctor and experienced medical staff. You will be discharged from the hospital according to your doctor’s instructions.
Surgery Time
After the operation, a special dietary programme will be put together for you under the supervision of a doctor and a nutritionist. You will be told how to eat, what to eat and when. The doctor will write you a prescription with all the necessary medicines and post-operative food supplements that you need to take. After the final examination, you will be able to fly home.
Postsurgical Care
Our relationship with you does not end when you return to your country. We regularly check on you and ask you to send your photos to share with our doctors. We also ask you to have an ultrasound examination in your country some time after the operation. Of course, we are always happy to answer your questions, as your peace of mind is of first priority importance to us.
