CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

As a senior Registrar at the Department of Thoracic and CardioVascular Surgery,Hacettepe University of
Ankara,working with Professor Dr aydin aytac and Professor yukksel Bozer .I was systematically taught and
gained excllent experience in the management of all types of Thoracic,Central and Peripheral Vascular
surgery ,in addition to Pediatric and Adut Cardiac Surgery ,that lasted from 1973 to 1979.

Hacettepe Heart center was the bigest center in turkey at the time,that included two theatre and two wards
one was directed by Dr aydin aytaç, dealing mostly with Congenital Heart Surgery,the other one was dealing
mainly with Adult Cardiac and peripheral surgery.

As a resident,I was joining both of them in turns every six months, that continued for five years.

On moving to Baghdad Medical City of Iraq in 1980, I started to work on my cases of Heart Surger
including mitral, Aortic Valvular surgery, Congenital Heart Surgery and Peripheral Vascular Procedures.
I did the first case of lef Atrial Myxoma in Iraq in 1982.
On moving to Erbil and stablishing the Unit of Thoracic and CardioVascular Surgery .I did good numbers of
pulmonnary surgery including Lobectomies and Pneumonectomies in addition to Pericardiectomy and
Decortications for Chronic Empyemas.Several hunderds of Small children with inhaled and swallowed
foreign bodies were managed by Using Bronchoscopic removal .As the heart lung machine was not availabl
at the time I had performed Closed Heart Surgery for Mitral Stenosis and Patent Ductus Arteriosus.

I did several operations for new borns with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia(Bockdalek).

I did operate on 20 days old infant with Ectopia Cordis and Cantrells Pentalogy.we did good numbers of
patients with Esophageal Cancers with Mr Al-Dabbagh Amir,of Manchester University NHS FT.

HEART SURGERY:

On moving to Gazi University of Ankara in 1991, I started to intensify my work on heart surgery mainly the
field of İnfant and Pediatric Heart Surgery in addition to the Adult Heart Surgery.

I have performed more than 400 operations for patients with Coronary artery disease including the beating
heart tecknique.

I have performed 70 total correction for patients with tetralogy of fallot ,50 total correction for patients with
partial and complete atrioventricular septal defects .80 Cases with ASD ,100 cases with VSD ,30 of them
were new borns and infants.

During that time I was deeply interested in education of Medical College Students and our Board speciality

Residents.

İn addition to that the organization and participating in national and europian congresses beind held in
İstanbul,Antaly,Bodrum and İzmir.

Me with Dr Kula Serdar Of Gazi Pediatric Cardiology, were able to perform the first Virtual Interactiv
Symposiumwith Synchrounus Distance Education Techniques in april of 2012.
